TL;DR: We collect minimal data (only what's needed for the app to work). Your tasks are stored locally on your device. When you sign in, we sync them to the cloud. You can export or delete your data anytime.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in, we collect:
Email address - Provided by Google or Apple when you sign in with OAuth
User ID - A unique identifier assigned by our authentication provider
Authentication tokens - Used to keep you signed in securely
1.2 Task Data
To provide the core functionality of the app, we store:
Task titles - The text you enter for each task
Task size - Small, Medium, or Big
Completion status - Whether a task is active or completed
Timestamps - When tasks were created and completed
Task history - Your completed tasks timeline
1.3 App Preferences
Theme selection - Which color theme you've chosen
Language preference - Your selected language (English, Finnish, etc.)
1.4 Subscription Information
When you subscribe:
Subscription status - Managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Subscription validation - Handled by RevenueCat (our payment processor)
We do NOT store your payment information - this is handled entirely by Apple/Google
1.5 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address
We do not track your location
We do not use analytics or tracking pixels
We do not sell your data to third parties
We do not use your data for advertising
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Core Functionality
Local Storage - Your tasks are stored locally on your device using SQLite database
Cloud Sync - When you sign in, your tasks sync to our Supabase cloud database so they're available on all your devices
Offline-First - The app works fully offline; cloud sync is supplementary
2.2 Authentication
We use Supabase Authentication for secure sign-in
OAuth providers (Google, Apple) handle the actual authentication
We use your email only to identify your account
2.3 Subscription Management
We use RevenueCat to validate your subscription status
This ensures you have access to the app
RevenueCat does not receive your task data
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Where Your Data is Stored
Local Device - Primary storage in SQLite database on your device
Supabase Cloud - When signed in, data synced to Supabase (hosted on AWS)
RevenueCat - Subscription status only (no task data)
3.2 Security Measures
All data transmitted to cloud servers uses HTTPS encryption
Supabase uses Row Level Security (RLS) - you can only access your own data
Authentication tokens are stored securely using platform-specific secure storage
We never store passwords (OAuth providers handle authentication)
3.3 Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as you use the app
If you sign out, data remains on your device but stops syncing
If you delete your account, all cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days
Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app
4. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)
Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, you have the following rights:
4.1 Right to Access
You can export all your data as JSON or CSV from the Settings screen
This includes all tasks, history, and preferences
4.2 Right to Delete
You can delete individual tasks within the app
You can sign out to stop cloud sync (keeps local data)
To delete all cloud data, contact us and we'll remove it within 30 days
4.3 Right to Portability
Export your data in standard formats (JSON, CSV)
Take your data to another app if you choose
4.4 Right to Rectification
You can edit or update your tasks at any time
Changes sync automatically if signed in
5. Third-Party Services
Focus Three uses the following third-party services:
Focus Three is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app message.
8. International Users
Focus Three is available worldwide. If you use the app from outside the European Union, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries with different privacy laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
